David Charlesworth GRA
David began drawing trains and aircraft before he was three years old, started painting with oils when eight and completed his first commission when twelve! His working life began in a large graphic studio. He was expected to develop his art outside of the studio and to bring work in for criticism.
Now a full member of the Guild of Railway Artists, he is co-author and producer of ‘INDIA, No problem Sahib’ and illustrator of the spectacular book on the Darjeeling Railway called ‘Halfway to Heaven’. He is co-founder and editor/producer of the Darjeeling Mail magazine, with over 680 members in 18 countries. He has also illustrated and produced ‘Chwedlau - Ffestiniog Fables’ for the Festiniog Railway Company in Wales.
As a working professional artist & graphic designer his work covers a very wide variety of subjects, including portraits. From his home in Chesterfield, his motorcycle gives him easy access to the Peak District National Park to capture its essence in watercolour and in oils.
